About
Delta is the rate of change. Gamma is the rate at which that rate changes.
The world doesn't move in a straight line. Not markets, not money, not technology, and certainly not the institutions built around them.
Delta Gamma is an exploration of the different orders of change impacting money, banking, capital markets, and the financial system as a whole.
Seha Islam
I help financial institutions define and navigate change. Since 2009, that has meant working through the global financial crisis, banking and derivatives markets reform, and most recently, adoption of bitcoin and digital assets.
Today I lead product, technology, and commercial strategy of the digital asset platform at a market infrastructure company. In my prior role, I led Digital Assets Product, Operations, and Risk Consulting at EY.
Alongside my primary roles, I have been grateful to contribute to industry standards that build the consensus to bring about change in markets. That work included the ISDA SIMM and the GDF Cryptoasset Standards, and service as Secretariat to ISDA and GDF on collateral mobility for tokenized money market funds.
Just as rewarding, perhaps more so, has been developing the next generation of change agents. At Columbia University's MS in Enterprise Risk Management, I designed the digital assets course and guest lecture on it. A dozen current and former colleagues and clients teach it with me. I have previously guest lectured at Rutgers University's MS in Quantitative Finance program as well.
I write at seha.cc, and post on LinkedIn and X. You can reach me at [email protected].
